Y’all know I love rocking me a red lip. Don’t believe me? Just watch!

See, I wasn’t lying. What’s funny is that I used to be so scared to wear it because I thought it was “fast”. Now it’s become my signature look. It makes me feel so confident and like I can conquer the world!

For the most part, I stick to my true ride or dies– Ruby Woo by MAC and Always Red By Sephora. That is until my friend Jennifer introduced me to a killer combo that I’ve been obsessed with ever since she shared it with me. So now I want to share it with you.

Isn’t it gorgeous?!? I love this combo because it’s a little more sultry than my other red lippies. Ruby Woo and Always Red are more on the orange, bright and vibrant side of red. Layering Instigator on top of the Ruby Woo adds a bit more depth and vamp to the red and I am here for it, ok?! I call this lip–my evening red lip. It’s perfect for dinner dates, drinks with the girls or a trip to the theater.

Want to get this look? Here’s how!

First things first, make sure to scrub your lips with a lip scrub to exfoliate dead skin away.  Ain’t nothing worse than an ashy pout. After I exfoliate I like to put a small dab of lip balm on to moisturize my lips. Right now, my favorite lip balm is Oh Honey Skin Care Citrus Lip Balm. Trust me it is heaven!  Mattes tend to dry out my soup coolers so to avoid that I balm it up for about 5 minutes and then gently wipe it away. Leaving on the balm is a no-no because your matte lipstick will look greasy and that defeats the purpose.

Step #1: Apply the Ruby Woo to your lips.

Step #2: Line your lips with the Instigator Lipstick. That’s right– you don’t have to spend extra coins on a separate lip liner, you can use the lipstick!

Step #3: Layer the Instigator Lipstick on top of the Ruby Woo. You can apply as little or as much as you like. When I want a more berry lip I layer it on pretty lightly. If I want more of a brown lippie I go a little harder. Here’s what it looks like a little darker for a brown!

Step #4: Rock the hell out of your new lippie!

I love discovering new makeup tips and tricks so major shout out to my friend Jennifer for putting me onto this combo! This look will definitely be a fall staple! Ladies, what’s your favorite lip combos? Let me know in the comment section.
